Firefighter Mark Wojnar is a hero. Not only does he put his life on the line to save others, but he also has a big heart for animals.
Recently, Wojnar was driving home from work when he saw a stray dog running down the street. The dog was scared and alone, and Wojnar knew he had to help.
He pulled over and got out of his car. The dog was hesitant at first, but Wojnar slowly gained his trust. He petted the dog and gave him some water.
Once the dog was calm, Wojnar took him to the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. The staff at the shelter were grateful for Wojnar’s help, and they were even more grateful when he decided to adopt the dog!
Wojnar named the dog Bentley, and he’s already settling into his new home. He’s happy, healthy, and loved.

Bentley’s Rescue Story
Bentley was a stray dog found running down the street in Buffalo, New York. He was scared and alone and didn’t know where to go.
Fortunately, firefighter Mark Wojnar saw Bentley and stopped to help. Wojnar brought Bentley to the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, where he was given food, water, and medical attention.
The staff at the shelter were grateful for Wojnar’s help, and they were even more grateful when he decided to adopt Bentley! Wojnar named Bentley after his dog, who had passed away a few years earlier.
Bentley lives with Wojnar and his family, quickly becoming a beloved household member. He’s happy, healthy, and loved and finally found a forever home.
